Dr Manjeet Susch
Clinical Psychologist
I have experience of working with people across the lifespan, different settings, and with a range of difficulties, which I acquired prior to and as part of my doctoral training. Since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist, I have specialised in working with children, young adults and their families or carers, along with other key people in their support network, such as school staff.
I have skills and knowledge in a range of therapeutic models including, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I work in an integrative, person-centred manner to adapt my approach of working according to the individual needs of the people I am working with, whilst also holding in mind the evidence base for interventions. The therapeutic relationship is a large contributing factor for achieving success for any psychological intervention, therefore I work hard to ensure that this is held at the forefront throughout my work.
In my work, I aim to empower people to make meaning of their experiences, develop goals that are meaningful for them and work towards a life that they wish to lead. I have a particular interest in working with people who have experienced developmental and complex trauma, along with thinking about other parts of their identity that are important to them as an individual and thus important for us to pay attention to in our work.
I also have experience in service development (in particular, implementing trauma informed care), providing training and supervision and a wide range of assessments, including psychological, cognitive and neurodevelopmental assessments.
In my spare time I like to cook, try new foods and learn about other cultures. I enjoy walking and exploring the outdoors (which helps to maintain some balance!), being creative, reading and watching television series!
